Giving Back with the CFMA

There’s a great vibe when you pull into the parking lot of St. Mary’s Food Bank on the West side of Phoenix and the Volunteer parking lot is full!SMFB-Done

Ledgerwood Associates joined the CFMA Valley of the Sun chapter this morning to help pack Emergency Food Boxes for children, the elderly, the homeless, and working families in the Greater Phoenix Valley. The CFMA group was partnered with Phoenix College’s NAMI group (National Alliance on Mental Illness) to help assemble 30 pallets of boxes (with 60 boxes on each pallet) to feed those in need.

It was truly amazing to be part of the assembly line with 35 other volunteers, cheering and competing with other teams to fill the Emergency Food Boxes at top speed! St. Mary’s knows how to organize, inspire, and maintain safety for all the volunteers.

In the end, 1,800 boxes and 41,000 pounds of food were assembled in 2 hours’ time! Many hands DID make light work (full disclosure: there will be an ibuprofen involved!).

SMFB-9Thanks to CFMA VOS for creating this opportunity to be part of a community that cares! See you soon, at the next event!
